Where does the time go?

I can't believe I've been so remiss in sharing my thoughts on my blog. Has it really been a couple of months? I hope you haven't squandered your past few months like I seemed to have been doing. We all get busy but enough of the excuses. I ran across a really good youtube video that I just had to share with you. You are all familiar with the Wii fit video game. While I'm not as cynical as this video portrays on the merits of the game, I do feel that replacing solid exercise routines with a video game is a little absurd. I have tried the Wii games (not Wii fit) and do find them amusing and applaud their ability to get the couch potato off the couch. Whatever it takes, I always say. But don't think that these games will get you into shape. They can't replace a good old fashion workout with a mission and plan of attack. Cardio training can't be replaced with a game unless they have you run in place for 30 minutes (you might break that little white board you stand on). I think the meditative and stretching qualities of yoga is great but again, yoga is not the only fitness routine someone should be engaged in for creating a healthy lifestyle. It is a combination of cardio, strength training, and stretching. High, medium, and low impact activities all have a role in a solid fitness routine and don't mistake a video game for a complete workout. Consider it the bonus at the end of your day and have fun doing it as an additional outlet. Enjoy the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iYBmAVuBns. Fitness should be fun but should also produce the results you desire. This is just one way to incorporate fun!
